Michael McGee has a Doctorate in Clinical Hypnotherapy, a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology and is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia.
He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis, the International Medical & Dental Hypnotherapy Association, and the National Association of Transpersonal Hypnotherapy including specialized training for weight loss hypnosis, smoking cessation hypnosis, hypnoanesthesia, and hypnotic regression. His Doctorate Dissertation: Treating PTSD with Hypnosis is currently in publication as a book from Transpersonal Publishing.
He has specialized training in substance abuse treatment/prevention and has been trained in the Department of Veteran's Affairs' PTSD Treatment Certification Program.
He is an accomplished presenter and has contributed programs for the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis, National Association of Transpersonal Hypnotherapy, and Creative Alternatives in Therapy Conferences sponsored by Radford University for the past nine years. These include presentations such as, PTSD treatment, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Hypnotherapy, Integrating Spirituality into Counseling, Modern Culture and Relapse Prevention, and Adolescents & Archetypes - Transpersonal Therapeutic Approaches.
Since 1999, he has taught as adjunct faculty in the Psychology Department at Radford University where he educated multiple sections combined of Abnormal Psychology, Adolescent Psychology, Child -Developmental Psychology, Introduction to Psychology, Personality, and Social Psychology.
